About Ray

Ray Greenlaw is the author of twelve books on topics such as the World Wide Web,
the Internet, and operating systems. His books are used in more than 100
computer science programs throughout the U.S. and the world.
Greenlaw has won a number of international awards, including two Senior
Fulbright Scholarship Research Awards. His research has been supported by the
governments of Germany, Hong Kong, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, and Spain,
as well as the United States. Over ten different agencies and groups have
supported his research, including the National Science Foundation.
In 1998, Greenlaw became the Head of the Department of Computer Science and is
credited with founding the fast-growing School of Computing at AASU in 2002.
During the last three years, the School has added a Bachelor's in information
technology and a Master's in computer science. Under Greenlaw's leadership, the
number of students in computing at AASU has tripled; Greenlaw has hired over
25 faculty.
