Pre-climb (January 4, 2005):
The team is assembled. We had a long briefing with the people who fly the aircraft to Antarctica. We are playing a waiting game now on our depature that go on for days on end. We will likely fly at night, but we just can't tell. Everyone looks strong and is in good spirits. Our expedition members will hold a meeting today to discuss glacier travel.

Pre-climb (January 2, 2005):
We just had a big expedition meeting in Punta Arenas. Paul and Peter arrived safely with their gear. There are four other guys going with us too. One of them has been delayed, but we hope he will arrive later tonight. We are doing gear checks today and have a weigh in tomorrow. We are all very excited to be going to Antarctica soon. We do expect some flight delays but we have our fingers crossed. Again, all is well and bascially everything is on schedule. Paul and Peter both look very fit for this trip.

Pre-climb (December 26, 2004):
I met Scott Woolums a couple of days ago in Punta Arenas. We have been going over logistics for the expeditions and also training. Everything is going well, although the 36 hours and 4 flights getting here left me a little tired. Scott and I have been hiking in the Torres del Paine area 8 hours per day training for our upcoming climb. The trails are rocky and mountainous. We are rounding into good shape though. I am currently in Alafate, Aregentina. We are going into the mountains for about four more days tomorrow. Then we will meet the Goranssons in Punta Arenas.

Pre-climb (December 21, 2004):
Arrived in Punta Arenas today and met up with Scott. We are going into the mountains tomorrow to begin preparations for our trip. All is well. We are in Punta Natales right now for the night. Tomorrow we go to Torres del Paine.
