CHAOS 2005
June 25, 2005 -
The CHAOS 2005 retreat was held on Jeckyll Island this past May. Here, students, faculty, and staff bonded as they prepared for the work they would endure during the summer's four orientation sessions. Armstrong is fortunate to have a terrific group of students executing the orientations this year! The School of Computing is nicely represented by Katie Hoenshell, Somi Benson JaJa, Jatin Patel, and Terri Ward. This year, I worked closely with the South Point group by helping them put together a presentation covering the advisement/registration cycle.

Co-PI Of An NSF Grant!
September 9, 2004 - Over the past three years, Armstrong Atlantic State University has helped many students fulfill their dreams of careers in computers through its CSEMS (Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics Scholarships) program. Through the leadership of Principle Investigator Dr. Ray Greenlaw, and later Principle Investigator Dr. Mark Burge and co-Principle Investigator Mr. Chris McCarthy, the School of Computing at Armstrong has received grants from the National Science Foundation totaling more than $600,000. The money from these grants has been used to provide many talented students with fulltime scholarships; enabling them to focus on their academic work and helping to lessen the financial burden of attending college. Many of these students are non-traditional students -- students attending college later in life -- who are ineligible for Georgia’s HOPE scholarship.
