I have been busy packing for several weeks now. I have moved all of
my things to storage and will not have a place to stay in the United
States until mid September, unless someone volunteers beach-front
accomodations :-)

Armed with one vocabulary word, which incidentially means "hi", I am
embarking on what could be the trip of a lifetime. I sure hope so!

My first stop is the Fulbright Foundation. There I will get the final
details for my assignment and take care of lots of paperwork with the
help of the very friendly Thai Fulbright staff.

Pete Solomon has connected me with the folks of one of his Middlebury
swimmers. Thanks, Pete. I will stay with Poom in Bangkok, and we will
go to Poom's farm estate during my first weekend in Thailand.

I will be in Chiang Mai in mid-January.
