The most dangerous part of this trip, besides the airplane with the damaged wing that caused us a 9-hour turnaround out of Los Angeles, was the Kangaroos on the road to the mountain. We ended up arriving at around 4am and the Joeys were everywhere. The climb up Koscuisko was very easy. We (Paul, Helen, Peter, and Jenny) were blessed with great weather. The mountains in southern Australia were pretty. On the way down the mountain we stopped for a couple of beers. Once we arrived at the bottom, we decided to go for an 8-mile run, which was very pleasant. The next day we were back off to Sydney. That night Ray, Peter, and Jenny climbed the Harbor Bridge. The following day it was off to Cairns, and then Port Douglas. There we stayed at an awesome condo, the Hill number 6. The most exciting part of the diving was when a giant clam just about got Ray's hand. Hmmm, where did Ray's regulator go ... Before returning home, Ray spent two weeks in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, where he was able to climb Nuang in the jungle, leeches and tick city, not to mention the bees.
