Fall 1996-97
The remaining inductees were enrolled in the Hall of
Fame due to their all around level of excellence in the
class. There was one student that did so well it is necessary to say
a few words about his performance.
Remember when Roger Bannister broke the 4 minute barrier in the
mile, Bob Beamon long jumped 29 feet 2 inches, Franz Klammer won the
gold in the downhill, Joany won the first Women's Olympic Marathon,
the US hockey team won the gold medal in the Olympics, Nadia scored
her first perfect ten (okay, I admit it sports mean a lot to me), ...,
well lets just say Mike Klein had one of those gold
medal winning semesters! Mike scored a 99 out of a possible 100 on
the final!! All of Mike's other work in this course was outstanding
as well. However, Mike needs to be saluted for his style as well ---
he sent many new hyperlinks in to me to help the class; he helped me
answer numerous student questions (that I couldn't); he attended all
classes even though for a few of them he was so far ahead of the game
that there was little he could get out of them! Okay, there was that
one time when Mike showed up late and whacked Kathy in the back of the
head (by accident) with his bag. Mike I salute you for doing great
work in CS 403 this semester!
There were three other students that should be recognized world wide
for their excellent work. They are in alphabetical order
Nathaniel Burnham, Matthew Goddard,
and Jeremy Willis. Great job!
