Position is on-site at Brunswick, GA with immediate start date of 9/15/05, or sooner. A background check and Secret Security Clearance (or paperwork started to get one) must be completed and submitted before work can begin.

Assists in analyzing system information requirements for 50-80 servers in support of MS 2003 Enterprise system with a few Windows 2000 servers and MS Clustering. User community is on XP Pro, service pack 2. Evaluates analytically and systematically, problems of workflow, organization, and planning and develops appropriate corrective action. Applies business process improvement practices to re-engineer methodologies/principles and business process modernization projects. Assist in establishing standards for information systems procedures. Constructs sound, logical improvement opportunities consistent with the configuration information management guiding principles, cost savings, and open architecture objectives.

Position Description: Provides IT systems engineering support to the COTR and Network Manager; assess base infrastructure and recommend/apply appropriate technology to ensure the technical requirements of system are in place; provide appropriate technical analysis and documentation; perform appropriate analysis and identification of technical issues and serve as an integral part of the development of a technical plans. This position will also require frequent interaction with other technical personnel to address any issues identified. Takes task assignments and direction from the Sr. Systems Engineer. Must demonstrate in depth knowledge and have hands-on experience in Microsoft Windows server administration, installing new software and hardware, performing back-ups, auditing security, monitoring systems, configuration management, trouble shooting, etc, as well as installation and management of clustered services for high availability. Must have experience with disaster recovery restoring partial or full site outages from tapes. Experience working with DNS, WINS, and DHCP. Some travel (0 - 25%) may be required, and candidate must be a US Citizen.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills:

Microsoft Certifications: MSCE (Windows 2000 or Windows 2003)
MCP (Messaging Testing or Exchange 2000/2003) desired
3 years experience with Active Directory in large multi-site environment
3 years of experience with Windows 2000 or 2003 server administration
2 years experience with designing, maintaining, and supporting Microsoft Exchange 2000 or 2003 in large multi-site environment.
Clustered Server deployments and migration experience required
Experience with Windows 2000 server and Windows XP workstation migrations
Knowledge of the principles, processes and tools of systems engineering as they apply to IT systems
Skills and experience analyzing complex government IT infrastructures and systems

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to both technical and functional leadership groups
Ability to identify the root cause of problems in relation to IT systems and IT infrastructure.
Ability to analyze local and enterprise wide IT infrastructure and identify possible problem areas in the context of the implementation
Ability to travel (0-25%) and lead deployment teams
Experience with Storage Area Networks is desired but not required

Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree and 2 to 4 years' experience; Master's Degree with 1 to 3 years experience or 5 to 7 years experience without a Bachelor's Degree.
