I received my PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from the Electrical & Computer Engineering and Computer Science Department of University of Cincinnati in 2003.

I also received MS degree in Computer Engineering from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chengdu Institute of Computer Applications in 1998 and a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Harbin University of Science and Technology in 1995.

My research areas include digital signal (audio, image, video) processing, computer vision and pattern recognition.

I have published 7 refereed journal articles and 22 refereed conference papers, obtained a patent and have implemented a number of industry and medical projects in these areas with different organizations, including Siemens Corporate Research, Hewlett Packard Labs, General Electric Aircraft Engine, American Glass Research International, Inc., University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Cincinnati Children Hospital Medical Center, etc.
